stretching on over 12 minutes, buchla market unveils the symbiotic beauty born when these 2 creative energies collided in the studio: barac’s signature tension building percussion as the perfect high contrast background for lyonel’s buchla electronic symphonia pieces. flipping the record we find pavane, the uptempo version of this collaboration: wind like hisses lost in the crisp techno patterns, broken only by outworldly analog reverbs. moment 004 is a bridge between don buchlas electronic visions, started over 50 years ago and what electronic music has transformed into in our times.

impulsive and intuitive hardware house & techno from vancouver duo minimal violence aka ashlee luk & lida p. the five tracks on night gym soundtrack urban landscapes, textured synths, heavy kicks, and dense polyrhythms come together to form the duo s own brand of outsider house. citing influence from both minimal synth and chicago house, night gym arrives hot off the heels of the duo s self titled ep on dublin based first second label which closely examined the intersections that lay between punk and techno. recorded in february/march 2016 in the duo s home studio, the instinctual nature of live work flow plays an important role in the duo s creative process. utilizing hardware (sh-101, tr-606/505/707, waldorf blofeld, juno-60, dx-21, mpc1000) in addition to sourced samples with final compositions compiled and manipulated in ableton, night gym is an example of the duo s diverse interests and collaborative nature. the duo recruited visual support from chicago based graphic designer kevin mccaughey of nonporous for the distinct imagery of night gym. as well he designed the poster that comes in the 12- and screen printed a limited run of long sleeve t-shirts available through boot boys biz.

josh praus has been involved in san francisco’s bay area scene for the last two decades. a prolific collector and player of records, what we tellin’ them marks his first public outing as a producer. as debuts go, it’s pretty darn impressive.
praus has been working hard in the studio over the last three years, creating tracks that draw influence from a wide range of styles and artists. he cites “downtempo, disco, house, italo and techno” as major inspirations, and listeners may hear elements from all of these disparate styles on this assured, confident ep.

bevor dieses jahr die festival saison begonnen hat bin ich in berlin ins studio gegangen und habe einige tracks für meine sets aufgenommen. zwei stücke davon spiele ich immer und immer wieder, sie wurden zum soundtrack für diesen sommer. sie sind hypnotisch und freaky genauso wie meine dj-sets. bei der produktion der beiden stücke habe ich einige von meinen lieblingsinstrumenten verwendet, die 303, die 909 und den minimoog, um düstere, verzerrte vocals, seltsame beats und pure, drastischer emotion zu erzeugen. die platte ist meine definition des allien sounds. ellen allien, september 2016

daniel meuzard aka feater originally hails from a small mountain village in the western austrian alps. the music producer with north african roots calls vienna his home for quite some time now. for more than ten years he has been involved in electronic music and working with analog synthesizers and classic tape recording. as an owner of a studio equipment shop he was able to get his hands on a wide variety of equipment. experimenting with different instruments and recording techniques helped him to develop his own musical ideas. in 2013 he released the 7inch vinyl single digital love on paradeis garage. in february 2015 he recorded his debut album waste the time on a 8track tape recorder and finalized it together with the producer and recording engineer sam irl in the summer of 2015. as a member of the finishgermanaustrian group skymax (along with stilettiana & sam irl) he released the vinyl ep trucker trans on his own label called international major label
